Pilates for Long Term Conditions

This specialised certification (formerly called 'Exercise Referral') has been developed for Pilates professionals to assist their clients with long-standing conditions to improve their health, increase levels of physical activity, and reduce the risk of reoccurrence. This course will give you everything you need to deliver safe and effective exercise programming for patients with a number of medical conditions, including hypertension, coronary heart disease, asthma, COPD, non-specific lower back pain, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and joint replacement.

This course will enable you to receive patients referred from a physiotherapist, GP, or other healthcare professional as part of a clinical service offering. 

You need to have achieved a Level 3 Mat Pilates qualification from a regulated education provider to attend this course.

After a long time searching for the right place to begin a diploma in Exercise Referral, I was very fortunate to have found London Pilates Academy and its expert team of Pilates teacher trainers.

The course is very interesting, most of it was completed at home, at my own pace: research, reading, and coursework. The coursework is lengthy, detailed and intense but it is what helped acquire the knowledge I was seeking.

The tutors were very effective in their communication, every time I had questions or needed help. I really enjoyed the time spent in the studio learning, sharing ideas and professional practice. Neil and his team of instructors were all very knowledgeable and experienced, helping me to gain better knowledge and understanding.
